Group Guided Tours
The museum offers guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm with standard admission, no reservation required. For groups of ten or more docent guided tours are available by appointment. Groups larger than 20 will be divided into smaller groups, each with its own Gallery Guide or Docent. Group pricing available. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.

Please have a representative collect member’s admission fees and pay for the entire group upon arrival on the day of your tour. We accept cash, checks and credit cards. Admission is good for the day.
The Museum is located at 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, Danville, CA 94506. Take the Crow Canyon Road exit from I-680. Go approximately 4.2 miles to the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon. Take a right on Camino Tassajara. Take the first left by the Century Blackhawk Plaza Theater (entrance to Blackhawk Plaza). The Museum is on the hill behind the Anthropologie Building.
There is free parking available. The closest to the Museums is by the store Anthropologie, along with handicapped parking. There are a few handicap parking spaces up on the hill at the Museum’s employee parking lot. Please notify the Museum of your final count no later than 7-10 days prior to the day of your tour. If your group is running late, please call the reception desk at 925-736-2277, ext. 222. Please note that if you are more than 30 minutes late, Docents/Gallery Guides are not required to stay, however, if they do, your touring time may be shorter.
If you must cancel your scheduled tour or make changes, please call the Programs Dept. at 925-736-2277, ext. 239 at least 5 days prior to your tour date.
- Guided Tour: The Museums Docent/Gallery Guide led tour is approximately 1-1½ hours. Afterwards, visitors are welcome to explore the Museum on their own. Guided tours are available for the Auto Gallery and The Spirit of the Old West.
- Public Tour: Docent led public tours of the Auto Gallery are conducted at 2 PM every Saturday & Sunday. This tour lasts about an hour and is free with your Museum admission.
Photography and/or videotaping for non-commercial purposes are permitted in the Auto Gallery, Spirit of the Old West, The West Lives On and The Art of Africa. The use of tripods, monopods, selfie sticks and extenders are not permitted in the Galleries. Photography and/or videotaping behind the rope barriers are not permitted.
The Galleries are wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are available for use.
- Please comply with instructions and requests from staff, Docents/Gallery Guides and security guards.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the Museum.
- Please leave backpacks with the receptionist.
