A Brief History of Industrial Design: An Audio Visual Presentation with John Francis Marsh
John is an instructor at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and an alumnus of the Art Center College of Design. He is also a veteran of the General Motors Design Center and Sundberg-Ferar Industrial Design.
In 1961 he founded Hisata, Ishimaru, Montgomery & Marsh, an industrial design consultancy in San Francisco. He continues to serve his clients with his firmMarsh Design Office.
In 2002 he was asked by the Industrial Design Department of the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, to teach a new course titled History of Industrial Design, and to teach young industrial designers how to draw.
Later that year, John was asked by the Director of the Academy's Cyber Campus to develop the History of Industrial Design to be taught on-line.
John is a member of the Automotive Fine Arts SocietyAFAS, and his art is shown in galleries and at the Pebble Beach Concours d Elegance each year.
His exhibition at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles has been extended through early 2007.
