Tours - Blackhawk Museum

The Blackhawk Museum Programs Department schedules School/Youth and Adult/Senior Group tours. These tours provide a unique opportunity for visitors of all ages. The Don Williams Automobile Gallery, Spirit of the Old West, Art of Africa, Into China and World of Nature Galleries allow visitors to experience and explore amazing educational, artistic, cultural and historical artifacts in one place. These galleries also support the California State Content Standards for History, Social Science, English/Language Arts and Fine Arts. All tour requests must be made four (4) weeks in advance of the scheduled tour.

Guided Tours Included With Admission Ticket

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS

On Saturday and Sundays we offer two different tours to the public that are included with your admission ticket. At 1:00PM is a guided tour of our Spirit of the Old West exhibit. At 2:00 PM is a guided tour of The Don Williams Automobile Gallery. Please keep in mind that all tour guides are given by volunteers and tours are subject to availability. Please feel free to call ahead to confirm if a tour will take place the day your visiting.

Adult & Senior Group Tours

The Blackhawk Museum offers Guided & Self-Guided Tours for Adults/Seniors, available by appointment only for groups of 10 or more. Two tours, per group, per day are available. Group admission pricing is extended if tickets are paid in advance or with one group ticket purchase at the Reception Desk at the time of the tour. School & Youth Group Tours

Guided & Self-Guided School/Youth Group Tours are offered by appointment only on Wednesday & Thursday's at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. All tours require a 10 student minimum and are one hour in duration. Two tours, per group, per day are available. Adult chaperones are required at a 1:8 ratio. Book a tour by clicking the “Request a School/Youth Tour” button below. Children’s Education & Transportation Fund

The Children’s Education & Transportation Fund provides school groups with funding for transportation & admission costs while visiting the Blackhawk Museum. Educational programming has been a primary mission of the Blackhawk Museum since opening in 1988. Over 200,000 students have visited the Museum during the last 30 years with tours targeting every age level. We invite all school groups, grades Kindergarten through High School, to experience the Blackhawk Museum.
