On May 6, the Blackhawk Museum will be hosting Santa Fe-based television and feature film-writer/producer Kirk Ellis for the Spirit of the Old West Speaker Series. With a career that has earned him numerous accolades, including an Emmy nomination, Writers Guild of America and Humanities Awards, Spur Award, Wrangler Award, and Critics' Choice Award, Ellis is sure to provide an engaging and insightful talk.
As the first undergraduate at the University of Southern California's School of Cinema and Television to achieve degrees in both film production and history/criticism, Ellis brings a unique perspective to his speech topics, which include Western Film and Television, Manifest Destiny, Founding Fathers, History on Film, Genre Writing, and Television/New Media. Whether you're a history buff, a film enthusiast, or simply curious about the intersection of these two fields, you won't want to miss Ellis's talk.
Admission to the museum includes access to the event, so be sure to mark your calendar for May 6 and join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening with Kirk Ellis.
