Celebration of Life It is with profound sadness that the Blackhawk Museum reports the passing of our esteemed co-founder, Don Williams. Don was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend to many. He was widely regarded as a legend in the collector car world and a cherished member of the classic car community. Don's profound influence on the collector car hobby will always be celebrated and remembered. His contributions to the establishment and operation of the museum were invaluable, and we will always remember him fondly.
The Celebration of Life will take place here at the Blackhawk Museum on Friday, April 21st, 2023 at 12:00PM.

Spirit of the Old West
Speaker Series Sherry Monahan is a passionate speaker who loves to engage audiences with little known truths about daily life in the American West. Her knowledge of food, drinks, people, and places appeals to a variety of events. She’s spoken at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, the Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake, California, Jesse James’ birthplace, Dodge City, Kansas, genealogy societies, historical venues, and more. She’s also appeared in several documentaries on the History Channel, FoxNews, and the American Heroes Channel.
On May 6, the Blackhawk Museum will be hosting Santa Fe-based television and feature film-writer/producer Kirk Ellis for the Spirit of the Old West Speaker Series. With a career that has earned him numerous accolades, including an Emmy nomination, Writers Guild of America and Humanities Awards, Spur Award, Wrangler Award, and Critics' Choice Award, Ellis is sure to provide an engaging and insightful talk.
As the first undergraduate at the University of Southern California's School of Cinema and Television to achieve degrees in both film production and history/criticism, Ellis brings a unique perspective to his speech topics, which include Western Film and Television, Manifest Destiny, Founding Fathers, History on Film, Genre Writing, and Television/New Media. Whether you're a history buff, a film enthusiast, or simply curious about the intersection of these two fields, you won't want to miss Ellis's talk.
